Family Hockey

Saturday, 2pm is Family Hockey time!

Both parents or at least one parent and their children play hockey together. There are no hard age limits, we had three generations on the pitch sometimes! However, the youngsters should at least be 5 years old.

More important: you do not need to be an expert – so all levels are welcomed. In general, we play the whole year through. Carsten, who is organizing Family Hockey, runs a WhatsApp group and decides every week if Family Hockey is on depending on weather conditions and who is available to play. He also caters for hockey sticks for different age groups, balls and a selection of shin pads for those who are not equipped. All you need to bring along are mouth guards for your children. You’ll see us Saturdays at 2pm at NPL. During the hockey season we sometimes manage to play on Astro turf as well.

Family Hockey is fun. We neither play official matches nor is there any formal training. We are rather a social bunch and it is great to play with a mixture of all age ranges. After playing we normally hang out on the lovely premises of NPL enjoying some drinks - outside in the summer or inside the Club House in the winter.

It is a great chance to give children and their parents a run around and see the kids developing over time, beating their parents!
