Was a tough one against Martin’s Development team, ending in an 0–8 defeat.
The oppo was a young, talented side, with most of their players under 20 and a couple as young as 12. They were quick and skilful, and much of the match was played in our half. We conceded five goals in the first half, several of them well-taken shots.
The second half was much more encouraging. We regrouped, defended with greater resilience, kept them at bay and created a few chances of our own.
Our players of the match were Trishan, who made lots of excellent saves in goal, and Jamie, who worked tirelessly all over the pitch.
It was a tough game, but there were positive signs in the second half to build on.
