🏏 From Hockey To Cricket World Champions!

At NPL Hockey Club, we love seeing our members getting involved in sport beyond the hockey pitch — and this summer, two of our players have taken things to another level!

NPL’s Mazza and Sue were both selected to represent England in Masters Cricket, with Mazza playing for the England Over-60s and Sue for the England Over-50s.

This was the inaugural Masters Cricket World Cup, bringing together teams from across the world. While the tournament is still in its early days and will hopefully grow in the years ahead, our NPL representatives certainly made their mark.

Sue played against both the International XI and Wales XI, helping England to victory in both matches. She scored an impressive 28 not out against the International XI and 48 not out against Wales — as well as taking a spectacular catch that, in her own words, made her feel like she was 20 again!

Despite missing a couple of games due to family commitments, Sue and her England teammates progressed all the way to the final.

And the result?

England are Masters Cricket World Champions! 🏆🇬🇧

A fantastic achievement for Sue and Mazza, and another great example of the sporting spirit that runs through NPL Hockey Club.
