Ladies vs Surbiton Tigers

First match of the season and it was delightful.

Out of habit, I arrived hours before the match thinking there will be something that needs doing out of habit. But not at all. Spaces in the car park, pitch alm set up and a very nice man telling me how to use the changing rooms and asking if I wanted anything.

I spent some time looking at the Paddle Courts and then the hockey match prior to ours. And then slowly but surely, apart from a few my orange hockey family appeared. What a joy and great to have some new faces.

To be honest I didn’t know what to expect for the game. Lots of subs and a Surbiton team. But omg thr Lucy Locket punched a goal into the back of the net within the first 5 mins. 

From the back you looked amazing. Passing, talking, making great play. I reckon potentially 28 shots on goal. You all looked like lemmings banging away at the poor keeper. Sue, Fiona, Mandy and Marian all got the shots in and so many play makers and assists. Not to mention the defensive line keeping the game high and allowing the rest of the team to make those winning shots.

No bra action to report or Sue taking to lie down in the D, but SJ covered that. Seriously you were amazing.

Big thank you to the two umpires fabulous umpireing and then to Mads and Peter for coming out to support.

It was a Brillaint game to watch. You ladies rocked it. 5-0 to us and I only touched the ball once, but totally made up for it with my gob
